me time

I finally got the pampering I so badly needed a few days ago - pedicure!
The last time I had my mani-pedi session was when I was 8 months pregnant. I managed to steal a little time and headed to Nail Parlour for this pampering session and I have never felt good!
Now that Luqman's passed the bottle training, I can now go out a little while for some me time and to run some errands leaving him under the care of my mum.
I miss him during the time I was away. Had to put on hold my spa treatment, too, as that would mean a few hours being away from him! But I will definitely go for it one day - I need that rejuvenation!
Which reminds me, I will be away from him for approximately 7 hours starting next Thursday as that would be the day I start work!
Let's see if we both will get through this tsk!

what you do count, so think
It's the new MTV now and I love it!
I love what they're showing on National Geographic. I love absolutely everything! I am totally hooked to all the brilliant and gripping documentaries. Even the short advertisements urging people to recycle. And that's the tagline up there.
There is always something to learn which enlightens me. It's like reading a 3D-encyclopedia on a daily basis. Makes me realize that there is so much that is happening on the other side of the world and so much to know. My sister thinks I've moved on to the next level (if you get what she means) but I think age is not the prerequisite for anyone to watch such channels--she thinks only old people watch National Geographic. I think she forgets that I am 24 years old -- so that makes me an adult (enough). Haha
The comical-like adverts about recycling knock some senses in me. I used to recycle--occasionally, that is. But at least I did. I don't see me doing it anymore. So yeah. What I do count and even if it's just a small noble step, it can change something.
So think, people. What we do count, and let's do it right! :)

life's a climb, but the view is great
If any of you really know where the title came from, you could have guessed the rest of this post's content. Oh yes.
Today, I decided to be extra nice to my sister by treating her to a movie -- a phenomenal movie, oh God -- that I have agreed to watch with her. And that movie being Hannah Montana, the movie. And my baby sister is 17 years old.
Forget about what I felt or that one time when I actually felt really enthralled with the whole thing. I do not regret watching it although I wouldn't do it all over again (obviously). I enjoyed the soundtracks and believe it or not, there were more than twice when I sniffed and I had something in my throat. Had to hold back my tears, too. Didn't expect that, though.
The twisted tale tells of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana's popularity begins to take over her life. Miley Stewart, on the urging from her father takes a trip to her hometown of Crowley Corners, Tennessee to get some perspective on what matters in life the most (Taken from Wikipedia). A very straightforward and a cliched Disney movie, but I'd say give it a try. You'd be surprised on how exciting it can be. And I know you'll love the Hoedown Throwdown song and the cool moves they show. I know I love it!
And I bought three educational books from the MPH Jimat Sale! It's been awhile since I get my hnds on books which are worth buying so I can't wait to start!
So as you can see, I treated myself first before I came home to the mounting scripts which in all honesty I'm starting to resent. Forgive me for wanting to relax during the holidays and blame the school for scheduling the exam at a time so inappropriate. Geeeezz....

read 'em books!
It's already the fifth month of the year and it is by far the year of the slath for me. By that I mean in reading. Unlike previous years, I have only managed to finish 2 novels in 5 months and to me that's quite a shameful achievement.
It took me approximately 3 months to finish Shalimar the Clown. It is undoubtedly a thick book of 649 pages. It traveled to quite a number of places outside of Selangor with me, but still, progression was very snail-like.
I seriously recommend this book regardless of it being a Young Adult. I love it!
I hope to finish it by the end of this month before I can indulge in other unputdownable books. And that reminds me, I have Lionel Shriver's The Post-Birthday World--I might have forgotten its existence--to waddle my way through; a book which I have read not even a quarter of it. Shame!
So let's not waste any time, shall we? Labels: books I read , indulgence
monthly indulgence
Today was exceptionally fun. I wouldn't say spending is total fun when it nearly burnt a whole in my wallet but I enjoyed it because it is the first time I've ever shopped for stuffs which I really wanted ever since ... well, moons ago? So I don't really mind, although I have to say that money doesn't buy much these days. With RM100 in hand, you could probably get a simple top (with the simplest design one could imagine) but one which carries a brand. And everybody knows that it's the name that adds on to the moolah.
I always have this thing about branded items. I get easily upset when I see items which do not deserve to cost that sky-high. It's plain ridiculous, really. It's probably the foreign rates but I just don't get it why it has to be that costly. But then again, maybe quality is the reason. Ah, never mind. I wear simple clothes and I don't mind at all that most of my clothes are brandless. After all, doesn't the story The Necklace taught you enough? Haha! Fabulousity doesn't need a lot of money if you know how to.
And if there is anything in the world that I don't mind spending--even if it means giving away a huge sum of my money--would be handbags!! Oh yeaah! They make me go jelly. Speaking of which earlier, I had a heart-flipped over this gorgeous handbag of a colour that I have been dying to own. You guessed it right--I bought it in an instant heartbeat! And what was more surprising was it didn't even cost me that much. It was a good catch, actually.
I just have to anticipate Rizal's response when he sees me with another handbag again tomorrow. I'm pretty sure he's relieved that he's not a female. Oh well, he'd understand! :)
